1508 Las Vegas Boulevard
Built in 1962, the Tod Motel was known for its tall neon sign, folded plated roof on it car porch. such was the height of the sign, that it could be seen from anywhere along the Strip, providing for a landmark for visitors. Visitors also enjoyed the Tod’s location, which was conveniently located near restaurants, shopping and casinos.
As the focus of Las Vegas pushed south, the area where the Tod is located declined, becoming a haven for prostitution, drug dealers and low-rent apartments. Around 2005, the property was sold. Portions of the old motel were developed into apartments, while another portion has been re-developed into a hostel.
